Remaining FC 8 Constitutional Amendments Avoided - LCMS Convention Ends
Floor Committee 8 suggested the LCMS Convention vote on whether or not it would like to examine the remaining proposed Constitutional amendments, or otherwise skip them and go home early. Wisely, the delegates voted to forgo consideration of the Constitutional amendments. The 64th Regular Convention of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod has now concluded.
Thanks to all the delegates for their hard work this week. For a complete rundown of the disposition of all the resolutions, visit the Synod website here.
I'll likely have a few more thoughts on the convention next week.

I heard that David Buegler admitted early-on to the Ohio delegation that the Constitutional amendments would probably be defeated. That's why the vote on 8-18 was put forward first. It was indeed a trial balloon and the result told the FC#8, President Kieschnick, the BRTF everything they needed to know. You saw how things went after that.
All in all, a very interesting and significant convention. I would guess that every group in synod is regrouping.
I was very happy to see that President Kieschnick outlasted the pastoral delegate from SE for face time. That man was still winning no friends and influencing nobody at 9:30 this morning.
Looking forward to your analysis, Scott.
Johannes (been there, but couldn't do it--glad this group did!)
