Another Tight Race Developing at the LCMS Convention

Another tight race is developing at the LCMS Convention to see who can get more air time – Delegate John Ramey of the Southeastern District or Chair Gerald Kieschnick. It would seem appropriate that the Chair win this particular race - no single delegate should think that they own the convention.

I don't know, Scott. It is definitely a tight race - don't count delegate Ramey out yet! :)

Is that guy still there? I think he forgot to go home after the 2007 convention. Actually he was from the Texas district back then, and now Midsouth, I think. Three successive conventions had to endure him, and he's now made it to a fourth. Charity will not allow me to say what I'm thinking. Our delegates are painfully aware of his antics. Of course, his specialty is calling the question. I'm curious--did President K admonish him? Or are you just keeping score by "face time"?
If you can see this, think about the poor delegates.
OK, 'Nuff said.
Very observant, Scott.

He hasn't been admonished - yet.

Scott,

That delegate the closest thing to a filibuster that we got. We need him to keep talking. ;-)

That is true, but couldn't we find somebody else? Get the guy who has stood up twice asking to limit debate to 1:00, and then 1:02. He took up more time doing that than would have been saved if he'd never said anything!

You do know, I assume, that Ramey is a big Jesus First community organizer. Last convention he kept trying tricks and by the end of the week people were pretty fed up with him.

Yeah, I knew. It doesn't say much for their "cause" does it.

I'm slightly acquainted with Pastor Ramey as his church is in my circuit about 5 miles from my house. He's quite gregarious.
