On Approach in Mexico City

For the majority of you who don't have opportunity to sit in the pointy end of an airliner on landing, this is what it looks like. The video shows a Mexicana flight crew landing in Mexico City. Enjoy.

thanks, Scott.

They made it look so easy.

What was the "system" saying/repeating after it read off the last elevation warning?

It was saying "retard" Jim, which means pull the power back to idle. If our planes went through all that vocalization stuff, I'd shoot them. It's O.K. for situational awareness on an actual instrument approach, but that's way too much for a visual approach. The likelihood of missing a radio call is greatly increasing with all of those vocalizations going on.
