Aiming Low

Quoting former LCMS President J.A.O. Preus, from the preface to Essays for the Church:
Perhaps in our day of sleazy advertising and ecclesiastical gimmickry we greatly underestimate the capacity of pastors, teachers, and lay people to understand and appreciate good, sound and practical theology.

It is all about appealing to the childish ways of a culture that is encouraged not to grow up and leave childish things behind.

The phenomenon we are witnessing is the church trying to pander to the culture.

My pastor makes some terrific comments on this trend, over at my blog.

Thanks for recognizing and staying on this problem.
