Was It Worth It? JOY FM Promoting Benny Hinn

Were we good stewards? JOY FM, the station to which the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod sold its KFUO FM radio station, is promoting the June 10 Benny Hinn Miracle Crusade in on its website. Benny Hinn is a false prophet who preaches another Gospel, leading people away from Christ by his Word-Faith prosperity Gospel message and healing “miracles.” Was it worth it?

Many people do follow this heretic and his minions. A few years ago when Benny Hinn was going to go to India for a big revival a Lutheran friend of mine said God can even work through Binny Hinn. I wondered to myself, What God are you talking about?

Matthew 24:23-25
23At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.

Didn't take us long to spend our thiry pieces of silver garnered from the KFUO-FM sale. The 2010-2011 budget (approved by the BoD) "includes $973,667 of the $2.3 million in revenue anticipated in the coming year from the proceeds and interest from the sale of KFUO-FM" (Reporter, June 2010).

We have no complaint since the radio station is nolonger ours. They could just as well broadcast Mormons or Buddists or Richard Dawkins for that matter. But, do not be deceived - God can accomplism His will through a burning bush, an ass or Benny Hinn if he chooses. We had the opportunity to "teach all that He commanded" and we sold out. Now it the time to break out the scandals and do evangelism the old fashion way - one sinner at a time.
Peace,
Dennis
