Something To Get Excited About

There’s a new Lutheran theology blog in town called, appropriately enough, Lutheran Theology.

Its contributors include LCMS pastors Graham B. Glover, Piotr Malysz, Dr. John Paul Salay, and Luke Zimmerman, and Anglicans Rev. Dr. Jonathan Trigg and Bryce P. Wandrey. Their blog is described as “A Forum to Discuss the Theology of the Sixteenth Century German Reformation and Its Descendants.”

Offered here are frequent quotes from Luther and other Lutheran theologians, quotes and discussions from Lutheran theological journals, book reviews, and various other topics. The posts are all short and informative without taking up your whole day to keep up.

If you enjoy stimulating quotes and discussions on Lutheran theology (and who doesn’t), you’ll appreciate this blog. Note in the comments that Pastor McCain points out that Bryce Wandrey is a defector from the Lutheran church to the Anglican church, which I didn't note in my initial post. One Anglican, okay. Two, hmmm.

FYI....Wandrey left his congregation in the LCMS and headed off to Anglicanism. I'd be more than a little leery of this "Lutheran" Theology blog.

Btw...I would be remiss not to thank you for the plug Scott.

Thank you.

In his usual fervor of making ad hominem arguments, Mr. McCain forgets that at least one of these Anglican theologians happens to be a good Luther scholar, a very rare breed indeed in the land called the LCMS. As a cure for this sort of silliness, I suggest that Mr. McCain try to put in at least a day's worth of honest parish work and stop preening himself as the ultimate Lutheran oracle. It's unbecoming.

Speaking of ad hominem arguments!
Really, piotr, practice what you preach.

Ed! When someone has nothing of substance to offer, he cannot be responded to in a substantive way.

So at this point, you will note, I actually am practicing what I preach – I’m preaching the law. And the law, well, the law is very much ad hominem. It brings the self-righteous down into dust.

Thanks, Scott. That was the last one (it's a actual photo of it) I flew out of NAS Alameda before I resigned my commission. Flew WVs out of Guam before that. The Connie is a more beautiful bird, but I couldn't find a decent photo out of my squadron..

Noted, Bryce.
But, regardless of that, it seems counterproductive to respond to alleged ad hominem arguments with ad hominem arguments!
Isn't there somthing somewhere about a soft answer turning away wrath? Or turning the other cheek?
But I'm just a layman. All this is probably above my pay grade!
