Jeff Schwarz mentioned the other day on an Issues, Etc. segment that he’d like to see Pastor Wilken in a kilt. I was sure I’d seen him wearing one in the past, and after rummaging around in the bottom drawer for a while I found this photo. The kilt looks slightly big on Todd, but it is color coordinated, and it brings out the color of his eyes too. Once a Scotsman, always a Scotsman, that’s what I always say.
In the photo, Craig Fichtinger, Pastor Todd Wilken, and Jeff Schwarz.
ADDENDUM
This just in - Jeff's hand has been found!
This blog post was picked by Jeff as today's Issues, Etc. Blog of the Week. Both he and Todd enjoyed Pastor Wilken's kiltish look (although somebody needs to explain to Jeff that the word is "Scotsman" with an ess, not "Scotman.") Pastor Wilken seemed to think there was some kind of "foul play" in the location of Jeff's right hand however. Being the gentleman that I am, I didn't want to draw attention to it so I didn't mention it originally. But now I guess the cat's out of the bag, so to speak. Fortunately, I found another photo in the drawer, a more seemly version, and am now posting that one as well for your viewing pleasure. Let me know which pic you like better.

Claudia asks:
ReplyDeleteIs that a manly purse he is wearing with his kilt?
Is there a can of Chelada in that man-purse on your kilt?
ReplyDeleteThank the Lord the man is sans bagpipes! This is further proof I should praise God for making me German (we don't wear skirts!)
ReplyDeleteThe "purse" is called a "sporran," and is a traditional part of Scottish Highland dress. Kilts don't have pockets!
ReplyDeletewhere is Jeff's right hand?
ReplyDeleteBeing the grandson of a Scotsman, of the Harvey sept, of the Keith Clan, I too sport my Tartan. 1/4 Scot 1/4 Irish, 1/4 English and 1/4 German.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! This made blog of the week at IE.
ReplyDeleteI'll take picture 2 where I can see where Jeff's hand is :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on Blog of the Week!
nice work Scott!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all. For those of you who are receiving this in your inbox, check back again for the addendum!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking Dennis (yes, I know it comes as a surprise) - I'm not real sure lederhosen are much of an improvement over the kilt, although at least they have pockets.
ReplyDeleteScott - having viewed the "addendum picture" I am left with the query, "Should not Jeff be equally concerned with the placement of Pr. Wilken's left hand?" Reflecting on what IE said addressing the "Blog of the Week" (my congradulations extended) I reluctantly must agree with Pastor Wilken's statement "We have the faces for radio" and extend this to include the dress as well. Thank the Lord faith comes by hearing and not by sight.
ReplyDeletePeace,
Dennis
We thought we had a good blog of the week entry for last week! Now I see that Wilken and Schwarz are looking for blog entries that are more on the "edgy" side.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
It's "dog eat dog" out here in the blogosphere Dave. You've got to scrap for any advantage you can get - although at least in my case, the "gag" posts only happen once in a while on Fridays. I watched the copy machine security risk video you posted (http://lambert-blog.com/2010/05/14/copy-machines-a-security-risk/) - that is a bit disconcerting. Maybe next week it'll be your turn for BOTW. You just need to do a little graphic manipulation, or have a lot of photos in your bottom drawer! Thanks for the congrats. Scott
